Pops on the River Update

Hello Chattanooga Tea Party supporters,

Thank you again for attending the April 15th Chattanooga Tea Party and showing your support. Here is a change to get involved and show support again.

Here’s the information for July 4th

WHAT

We are meeting at Coolidge Park July 4th to celebrate our nations 233rd Independence Day. This is a LOW KEY FUN event. We will not be rallying like the last time. We are saving that for a later date. This time we just want to show our support for the constitution and what it represents. We hope to see you there.

WHERE:

Coolidge Park. Click here for the Google Map.

  1. Please bring card tables, chairs and/or blankets and look for our large Constitution signs on the tables at the front of the park.

  2. Bring a candle for your table or blanket in the evening.

  3. Picnic baskets and games are the order of the day –enjoy

  4. The Market Street Bridge starting at 5th Street will be closed at 3:30 pm but the Coolidge Park area will be open to traffic and has a metered parking area (come early if you want one of those).

  5. Buses will also be running to and from Coolidge Park from points in the city. Check web page for specifics.

WHEN:

  1. We are setting up early–2:30pm to get a good location, but most folks won’t be there till 4:30 or 5:00 pm.

  2. We have scheduled two hour blocks of time for volunteer workers, and we could use a few extra workers from the 3-5pm block and the 5-7 pm block. You will be handing out materials and assisting people in signing up for the CTP newsletter.

  3. Please email or call if you would like to be a volunteer patriot.

  2. Fireworks at 9:00 p.m.

  3. CTP Mission statement postcards and pocket constitutions will be handled out to people signing up for the Tea Party newsletter.

There is a 40% chance of rain Saturday and Sunday. If the celebration is rained out, according to the web site, it will be rescheduled the next day, Sunday July 5th. CTP’s plans would just switch to Sunday.
