DREW JOHNSON, NEW FREE PRESS OPINION PAGE EDITOR, TO ADDRESS JULY 19 TEA PARTY MONTHLY MEETING
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (July 15) – It didn’t take long for one of Tennessee’s most thinned-skin politicians, Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-INO), to feel the bite of the Free Press’s new editorial page editor, Drew Johnson. The Chattanooga Tea Party will welcome Mr. Johnson at our July 19 monthly meeting, which will start at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will take place at The Century Club Banquet Hall, 3221 Harrison Pike (off Access Road, just south of the Highway 153-Amnicola Highway intersection, next to The Lighting Gallery).
Johnson founded the Tennessee Center for Policy Research, which uncovered how former Vice President Al Gore was using 20 times more energy than the typical American at his Nashville home while he was touring the country promoting his Oscar-winning film against global warming, “An Inconvenient Truth.” That think tank has since been renamed the Beacon Group.
Johnson has contributed to national publications and news shows, including The Wall Street Journal, National Review, CNN, Fox News, NPR and the BBC.
Media are invited to cover this and all Chattanooga Tea Party monthly membership meetings.
Attendees are asked to RSVP to Chattanooga Tea Party’s Facebook page (link at ChattanoogaTeaParty.com). Donations to the Chattanooga Tea Party will be accepted at the event to help defray costs, as will food donations to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
The Chattanooga Tea Party is a non-partisan grassroots organization seeking to educate and inform its members and the public at large of the fundamental issues and struggles our country is facing. We are committed to energizing voters to become engaged in the process of solving the nation’s problems.
