This month’s meeting will feature Representative Mike Carter as our guest speaker. Rep. Carter, a businessman, former judge and newly elected Tennessee state representative from Ooltewah, led the fight this last legislative to oppose annexation in Tennessee. He will be updating us on the battle he fought and the resulting legislation that was passed. Rep. Carter will also provide us with “the good, the bad and the ugly” of his first legislative session in Nashville. You will not want to miss this highly informative session.
In addition to Rep. Carter’s update, we will be providing a full overview of how the national IRS scandal and their targeting of tea party groups has impacted the Chattanooga Tea Party.
Our meeting will take place on Thursday, May 16 at 6:30pm at The Century Club Banquet Hall, 3221 Harrison Pike (off Access Road, just south of the Highway 153-Amnicola Highway intersection, next to The Lighting Gallery).
As a reminder, please be sure to bring a non-perishable canned good item as the Chattanooga Tea Party is committed to supporting our local Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
