CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Sep. 26) – The Chattanooga Tea Party will host the second LiberTea Debate for Tennessee’s 3rd Congressional District for the U.S. House of Representatives on Saturday, October 16, 2010, from 2-5 p.m. at Woodland Park Baptist Church.
The debate will be free and open to the public. Democratic candidate John Wolfe and Independent candidates Mark DeVol and Savas Kyriakidis have confirmed they will participate. Republican candidate Chuck Fleishmann received written and personal invitations to attend. This afternoon a campaign spokesperson indicated Mr. Fleishmann would be unable to attend due to a “scheduling conflict.”
The media is invited to cover this debate as a public service to help inform voters of the choices they will face.
At the conclusion of the debate, each participating candidate will have an opportunity to meet with and answer attendees’questions in a separate room. This will allow attending voters to discuss issues directly with each candidate.
The Chattanooga Tea Party is a non-partisan grassroots organization seeking to educate and inform its members and the public at large of the fundamental issues and struggles our country is facing. We are committed to energizing voters to become engaged in the process of solving the nation’s problems.
